SCARIFICATION: THE ARCHITECTURE OF TRANSITION In the rapid evolution of the urban landscape, every new development begins with a mark. My work explores the scarification process—the physical evidence of transition when the old is cleared to make way for the new. By documenting the demolition of retail centers and commercial hubs, I capture the raw, industrial narrative that exists between a building’s past and its future. As walls are breached and foundations exposed, these textures narrate a story of transition and industrial resilience, serving as a testament to the constant state of flux in our urban centers.
